the “harm principle” seems like it provides a basis for forbidding conquest / aggression. But if you think about it more, a lot of controversy stems from where one person definition of “harm” encompasses another person’s “isolated” behavior - eg doing narcotics by myself changes me into an addict and then “harms” the social fabric of the community (since who wants to be friends with an addict?)

rational is to apply the mind to find the truth and apply it to the public sphere and law.
reasonable is to accept that people should not use their conviction of the truth, but should instead be willing to make public decisions based on what shallow overlapping consensus exists.
This lead to loss of confidence that rational leads to truth
