Status Updates From Alone (Serenity, #1)

Good read!

Such simpering assholes. It's been a week and they're saying they love each other, she's threatened to kill herself if he doesn't turn her, and he doesn't want to be with her because it's for her own good. Ugh.

There is not a single shred of originality in this book. It's overflowing with angsty butthurt and weepy, overly-emotive instalove, and any tension is contrived at best. Ugh.

It doesn't matter if the protagonist is self-aware of the shitty decisions she's made in life when she continues to make shitty decisions. The two have known each other for less than a week and can't live without each other. For a woman who knows she's never stood on her own two feet I her life, she readily falls back into that same pattern. I don't know whether I should pity her or want to slap her.

This is literally Twilight with adult characters.

The eBook formatting on this sucks. I get two paragraphs per page and 50+ page chapters.

Despite my initial misgivings about the narrator I have to say I loved this book. Not my usual genre at all. My full review will follow but let me say I thought this was a well written story ...lots of interesting sub plots and a bit of romance too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

hmmm...have to put a page in so guesstimated! Am an hour into this book. Still not sure about the narration...I kinda like my own voices in my head as I go along lol! But the story is good so far!

One hour out of seven complete. Still not sure about the narration or my views on audio books just yet...but the story is good! Strange having it 'read' to me lol!

I am actually LISTENING to this book starting tonight. My first audio book and a new author I have not read yet !
