-pacing issues, should’ve been a short story
-my pet peeve is when someone’s trying to explain something and they continuously say “listen to me” without further explanation of said thing and this did it a lotttttt
-audiobook sucked

Liked that the premise itself was impressing on the family but they were also affecting each other in the opposite ways that they viewed it. Wished that happened a little sooner tho so we’d have multiple influences of tension, but that would require them to come to terms sooner and ask point blank for an explanation from Leonard. And if that happens it wouldn’t be able to dragggggg lol

Sabrina digs up keys and gun

They’re in a standoff and both Eric (to do last sacrifice) and Andrew (she buried it) see this very differently. She yells at the to leave and get in the car but robotically she switches and says they can still fix it after she’s gone but have to be quick and shoots herself. Eric moves to shoot himself but eventually is talked out of it and they walk into the sunset type shii

Sabrina hits Leonard w shovel and then flights crash on tv. She puts fabric on his head. they all walk to their car and look for the keys
Eric refuses to let go of Wen and carries the physical and emotional weight, Andrew’s knee acts up

Andrew tries to rationalize (timing of disasters, checking watches, recognizing Redmond) and Eric does the opposite (exact descriptions of plagues, doesn’t recognize Redmond)

Sabrina comes back, wants to fight it she can’t stand Wen died

Andrew taught revelations in his class (they’re wearing same color shirts as the horseman) but doesn’t want Sabrina to explain so Eric will hear it. She tells how she felt compelled to do all of this. Heard voices. She tells them where she left their car keys miles away. She wants to help them escape even tho she believes what’s happening here.

Andrew and Eric argue cuz he’s starting to believe. On tv it’s bird flu but Andrew says it’s not a live recording and it’s been reported on for months, reminds they kept checking their watches.

He still remembers the figure of light when Redford died and there was a second quake which happened live. And epicenter of pandemic is in Hong Kong which is their city together.

He spots jar w lid closed but doesn’t confirm if the grasshoppers are there

Adrian attacks Andrew and he kills her. Leonard wrestles for gun and has rage moment and then Wen is shot accidentally and dies. Leonard knows this is because of his tightened grip.

Eric ties him up, and swats flies off Wen’s body but Andrew doesn’t see them. One guides Eric to turn on the tv, they didn’t stop the apocalypse

Leonard started a message board and Redmond was first to join. He saw the cabin, did he lead them here cuz he knows Andrew? But the others saw the cabin too. And Eric doubts it’s him

Wen remembers the grasshoppers (Leonard says he released them) and makes a scene and Andrew manages to escape but doesn’t have keys and tires are slashed, Sabrina hits his knee and he misses two shots! Cmon my man.

Leonard makes dinner, Eric is starting to believe them but Andrew notes they were checking their watches continuously and the first earthquake happened 4 hrs prior

Redmond puts on head sock says thank u and a shimmer of light that resembles a person appears momentarily but it’s thru Eric’s POV who has a concussion, then they each hit him until he has a hole in his chest, Leonard vomits

On the news is an earthquake but then it’s a tsunami Adrian dreamt of

None of them knew each other before last Monday, they were called and united in the command

Andrew, Eric and Wen must decide to kill one of themselves or else the entire world will die and they’ll only live long enough to see it happen

Leonard continuously insists it’s not fair and they don’t want to bring this message.

Andrew thinks he recognizes Redmond

Andrew gets a few good swings on Sabrina but Eric is knocked out may have concussion; they’re tied up and assure they’re not here cuz they’re gay or to hurt them that they were thrust into this situation

We learn some background info on the group, idk if it’s true

Sabrina: nurse from Cali
Redmond: seems to be wildcard and the group may not like him, only one of group to not get “message”

Leonard says it's not easy on them either cuz they've never been in this position before and they won't leave until they agree to talk, they don’t have weapons but tools and they’re not for them


Sabrina says they can’t call the police cuz they cut their phone line and there’s no cell service here

Andrew has gun in car, they lock doors, but unsure is cellar stair door is locked

Wen (adopted, 2 dads) is catching grasshoppers in the front yard, man named Leonard (huge dude) comes and chats, 3 others come and they're carrying tools and Leonard says: they have to be let in, they don't want to hurt them but need their help to save the world, that they will have to make some tough decisions and he wishes they didn't have to

She tells her dads, Leonard stresses it's vital that they talk to him
