1# I rlly like how it gave us backstory to the characters, like in the anime they introduce shuichi & takatsuki as exes that become friends and not rlly show any backstory.
2# FUCK YOU MAHO!!!! YOU TRANSPHOBIC PIECE OF SHIT!!! ITS NOT PERVERTED FOR A MAN TO DRESS UP IN A DRESS IF THEY WANT TO!!!! FUCK YOU FOR ALSO OUTING THEM TO YOUR MOTHER!! I HATE THEM >:(((

SO CUTE. Wandering Son is a manga about Shuichi, who wishes to be a girl, and Yoshino, who wishes to be a boy. At its heart, Wandering Son is a coming-of-age story that showcases the lives of trans kids. I thought the book itself was cute, but there are some parts of this book that I felt were problematic (Yoshino being picked up as a guy by a way older lady is portrayed as a cute moment...pedo alert)

Gonna spend all my money on gothic lolita wigs and be bullied back into hikikomori-dom.

You know, as unintentionally queercoded as scene and deathcore were, I wish I'd read Hourou Musuko when I was fifteen instead, so I wouldn't have needed to spend a decade vomiting back out the heteronormative misogyny, homophobia, and self-destructive coping mechanisms that came with their femme aesthetics.
