Francisco feels like the book is saying the husband should “bend the knee and do it”

Francisco said that sometimes it feels like the author is dramatically putting himself down for how poorly of a husband he was and as a person, as if he’s mentioning it over and over again. He feels it is self deprecating. Something about wanting to punch his face.

I think the book has mostly just been introductory right now, although it did help me draw that connection of the fish sandwich of that promise being made between us for alcohol and self harm and I hadn’t put those two things together like oh hey maybe that’s when our trust started getting questioned.
Francisco feels it’s very geared towards the husband being bad. He has not seen aspect of the other being bad.
