I think it's telling that we just switched from talking about "good" people to talking about "happy" people as though those words were perfectly synonymous.

I read one opinion that Morris' problem is that he's a Protestant minister writing about Catholicism. That's really coming off strongly in this exchange.

If Hecate was the true main villain of this series, I feel like we should have at least HEARD of her before halfway through the final book.

Isn't there some sort of magical law that either Ywain or Laudine HAVE to stay in the castle to guard the Storm Stone? This was a pretty important plot point.

How do you talk about Lorie for several hours? What is there to say? She doesn't even have a personality.

Can't help but notice that this is the exact of how the battle goes "in canon."

I'm not saying Lancelot isn't a Gary Stu in the sources, I'm just saying, it feels a lot like Morris is going "ACKTUALLY Gawain IS a better fighter and the fall of Camelot wasn't his fault AT ALL and he doesn't have ANY flaws and..."

"Gary and Lynet are dead," Gawain said dully. "Gareth and Agrivaine too, for that matter."

"Gaheris and Lynet?" Terence whispered.

See what I mean? The other two are just afterthoughts. It's like Morris can't imagine the characters that he likes giving a fuck about the ones that he arbitrarily hates.

So...is Gawain gonna go apeshit now that GAHERIS is dead? Even though he didn't give a fuck about his other brothers?

I...don't think this actually makes sense.

It's weird that all three of these characters are so indifferent to their siblings' deaths.

Also, given how Gawain basically drove the whole Arthur-Lancelot war in canon, I feel like that indifference plus him not even going to the battle is just Morris trying to protect his favorite character from having any flaws.

Of course the raven is named "Lenora."

Man, Morris is actually trying with this one.

AGRIVAINE is getting focus chapters? He's gotten less characterization than Gawain's horse.

Give Gareth credit, he's making good points.

Either this plot is going to vary widely from Arthurian legend, or we've even got typos on the dust jacket now.
