Status Updates From Checkmate

Part way through. This book is not hanging together well for me. It feels like a teleplay written down in book form, not an actual novel. Too much telling, not enough showing. It may be that the action started too quickly in the beginning. I don't know Trace at all, so I really have no strong feeling about finding him.

Ugh, just grow up, Kendall! I hope Garrick puts an end to you!

Getting 'really' tired of the bait & switch in this. The character will make a discovery (such as whatever Dawson learned from Charlie about Kendall's mom), but the author goes to great lengths so that the reader has no idea what they learned EVEN WHEN WE'RE IN THAT CHARACTER'S POV AS THEY MAKE THE DISCOVERY!

We are TOLD what they find, rather than shown. Ugh.

And yet I can't stop. I'm demented.
