Status Updates From The Lacuna

It’s taken me a while to like this book as I felt an overly self conscious style in the writing. But I found chunks of the book that I really enjoy — descriptions of Mexico, architecture, history, and art. As I progress, however, I see the book as kind of a mural, like the ones Rivera paints. Not always my favorite style of painting or writing, but both have layers of stories and larger than life characters.
