Status Updates From The Sword of the Lictor

The family escaped. Then they were attacked by small naked animalistic barbarians. They beat the grandpa and dog to death. The Alzabo (the big cat) killed the barbarians, ate the mom's head to bring the family together inside the beast, and then died of his wounds.

Severian adopted the surviving child. Who's name is also Severian.

This 8 foot tall big cat hunted a family, ate the daughter and dad over the course of a few days, and started taunting the survivors outside their home in the voices of the people it ate. Now Severian is having a sword fight with it, and it keeps responding to him as if it's the dad just trying to be with his family.
