Life is too short. I'm going to start a DNF bookshelf, Did Not Finish. This is just one of few books in my entire life that I started reading & didn't finish. One-third of the way into the book and there isn't much story or action. The characters aren't strong and likable and not enough backstory is revealed to compel me to read more. 1700s leading up to the Jacobite rebellion, also not my favorite time period.
