anyway I am very fond of the autistic knight errant, the evil saint wife, the misunderstood yet still evil princess, and the evil castrated teen assassin

Because I am reading this in the original text instead of the modernized condensed version I feel as though it can not reach my heart. The story itself is great but the romantic aspects feel like they don’t have as big of an impact as they should.

“And he hungered for his downfall. The ache in his belly was nothing to the tension of waiting, to the hot pain of love's appetite. A lance through his body was nothing to it.”

oh he's such a silly himbo! this is adorably funny!!!

Initially the middle english was hard to grasp but as i've continued to read it flows easily and is so captivating.

This might be one of the best historical romances I’ve ever read.
