Status Updates From The Queer Dutchman

On pg 34, he seems to imply that he is guilty of what he refers to as “my offence.” I hope he dies on the island. I’m pretty sure he does

I’m getting an icky feeling. They waterboarded the confession, so it’s possible he only confessed to stop the torture and didn’t actually do it. If he did do it, he deserved to be abandoned on an island, not because he was queer but because his “lover” was the mess boy, described as young and innocent. Even worse, when he first denied the allegations, he said he had a father-son relationship with the boy.

I found this at an antique store when I was in college. It’s crazy that it only has 14 ratings on Goodreads. My goal is 5 pages a day to finish by the end of September, but I’m guessing I’ll finish a lot quicker than that.

Aaah, unfortunately I cannot finish the book because I read it in Googlebooks which sadly only provides a limited preview of the book's pages. This is a very old book, where can I find it? I'm very curious of the later chapters! T-T

Haha, have just started. It's interesting, a translation of a castaway's diary in the 18th century. Just been wondering how it feels like to be isolated in an island and died from thirst.
