Ha ha - oh dear! Lisette has decided to turn herself out like one of the "wicked women" her husband has enjoyed in the past, despite having "no very clear idea how to achieve this admirable goal."

He is taking his lover (his wife's only friend) to have sex with her to his home? WHILE thinking his wife is there?! And he is supposed to be the hero? What fresh hell is this?! And I paid for this wall-banger?! Argh! How hard is it to get a refund?

Skeptical minds wish to know exactly HOW Raoul believes he will be able to pry an English inheritence out of the hands of an English aristocrat and away from a legal marriage sanctioned by English law through marriage in an English church in England. So....hed planning to kidnap the bride to France, rape and imprison her and expect the money will just magically appear in his hands there?? Delusional much?

Georgette Heyer's estate should be earning royalties for this blatant copying of The Convenient Marriage and Regency Buck! I'm detecting bits of Friday's Child too.

There is a big logical hole in this bothering me. Why, if you think your wife is too young and virginal for you to sleep with (and, legally no less). In that case, why would you be encouraging her to take lovers (multiple no less)??
