Alberic's story turned out to greatly resemble the story of Milo in the Phantom Tollbooth, where it takes him a long time to realize that the journey is the aspect that's worth savoring. It's not all about reaching goals but learning to appreciate continually pursuing them. A very philosophical ending to the story.

So far, so far over my head. I mean, I get everything, but this is really the kind of book that requires an engaged reader. I'm the kind of person who will go a few pages and will notice someone walking past my window and mentally walk away with them. I'm also the person who will read that the main character is named Alberic and I start going through a list of people I know who are named Alberic. Short list.
