- Can we have a round of applause for Malc? Best robot companion a boy could have!! He valued Luke’s life above all else AND defied the Authorities’ orders to deliver Luke’s final message of love to Jade. That’s huge! Also he said “It may be curtains.” which is one of Luke’s phrases. Shows his growth. Fantastic!

- It’s really cool to see references to earlier cases!
- “I cannot risk your health.” Aaw! And they say robots aren’t capable of caring.
- “Having been trained, you cannot be untrained,” The forensic investigator version of Macbeth’s ‘what’s done cannot be undone’ haha!
- First his father, now his mother. Poor Luke can’t catch a break when investigating his own family!

- “Luke regarded his investigation as bizarre. He had some suspects for a crime, but he didn’t have a cause of death or a motive. He didn’t even have clear victims. Or a clear crime.” That’s what makes this feel like such a wild goose chase.

- This is a book of science so I know it's not about to allow some mysterious magical jade pyramid to heal anyone without a real scientific explanation behind it. I hope.

- Aaw a happy family reunion! Except it’s not so happy because everyone’s still mourning Kerryanne’s death.

- I’ve finally reached the point in this series where I’m reading the book for the first time!
