Having reached the amazing exciting parts of the story I find that the whole sleep so you can go to work idea is very annoying. In general I like my job and believe that work is good for humans both because it brings purpose to life and it increases social interaction. However, having reached the last 25% of my book with its climactic end, I want to call in sick and read! I won't but I want to!

Favorite quote so far
"But Thirsk treasured that brief exchange, which seemed to promise a potentially sane ally. He hoped it did at any rate, because he suspected he was going to need one."

More highly detailed setup and ship and gun design and how to fight with them. A little daunting in the reading sometimes.

A thought after reading these pages is that I sort of understand why some people have issues with this book. Much of the section I just read had a ton of setup and world building for the story which, though necessary, isn't as much fun to read.

Moving along slowly is still moving. I now have the first 8 books in this series in mass market paperback (my favorite reading format) used of course because I can't afford new. Stacked on top of each other it is very obvious that this will take a while!!!
