I was aiming for the Ultimate dream reading cohesion by waiting until I got up to the composition of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in the Mendelssohn bio I'm reading to sync up with the Shakespeare section in Harold Bloom's 'Best Poems of the English Language' as well as the Shakespeare play itself and then I unexpectedly came across the 'Wedding March' as my next piece in this book! Could've been perfect!! Alas!! :D

Pleased to be back getting some regular time to work through this. A string of simple, but pleasing to the ear, arrangements of Offenbach's 'Barcarolle' from the Opera 'Tales of Hoffman', Tchaikovsky's 'Marche Slave' and Grieg's 'Morning' from the 'Peer Gynt Suites', which I'm currently working on. Becoming proficient in pieces a little bit faster now; amazing what a bit of consistency will do.

Pleased to be back on track with this one after a bit of a piano hiatus!
Working on D Major/Minor keys by way of Bizet's 'Habanera' from the opera 'Carmen'.
Thought it was a bit dull but started to listen to Suites 1 & 2 with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic (1973) to get a feel for it and have thoroughly reevaluated. Highly recommend! :)
