Status Updates From Finnegans Wake

Is there a perfect time to begin 'Finnegans Wake'? Well I started it while locked inside in a blizzard and high on cold medicine, so yes.

“The Nuvoletta reflected for the last time in her little long life and she made up all her myriads of drifting minds in one. She cancelled all her engauzements. She climbed over the bannistars; she gave a childy cloudy cry: Nuée! Nuée! A lightdress fluttered. She was gone.”

Over halfway done! This is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever read, and likely the hardest I ever will. Don’t believe me? Look up the first page. I spend at least ten minutes on each page, consulting two other entire books analyzing this one, not to mention the countless essays I’ve been reading on Jstor. There are scholarly disputes on whether this book has characters or a plot! Oh boy…

Lots of fun though.

Schwrites this one for the bisexycles, lesbiels, hetarosexuals, and even “meeter’s cat’s wife’s half beeter’s meeter.”

“It Was Me Egged Him on to the Stork Exchange and Lent My Dutiful Face to His Customs” is the original stonks meme.

Averaging 20-30 minutes per page… Barely scratched the surface here but it’s already one of the most rewarding reading experiences I can imagine.
