Meh. Despite the torrid summary, thus far it seems to be one of Ross’ plodding, slower books. So difficult to find a good balance in his stuff. :/

‘The two pretty girls in the nightgowns were now on the floor rolling in battle. Grim, filthy words came from their lips. And all at once the red-haired girl completely ripped the nightgown from the larger blonde, leaving her totally nude as the struggle went on! Mrs Arlington screamed loud w/ dismay; the young man watching howled w/ laughter.’ ….Lolz. Dinner in Storyville. 😂

—He stood there beside her, silent & gaunt, his sadness wrapped about him like a mantle. She felt guilty in the realization that she was not alone in having problems, that she had no right to burden him w/ her fears.
