I just finished reading "Creatures of the Night," 1 of 2 two stories translated from the collection THE MAGIC RING in this collection. I venture to say "Creatures of the Night" is a masterpiece of short fiction, horror fiction and translation (as some sentences are so brilliant and of their Portuguese counterpart came to me in an instant). Upon finishing this story I tossed my highlighter down in awe, breathless.
