A sheltered woman. Auntie mei definitely doesn’t trust anyone and is very old school mentality. I feel like this story is about how mental health used to be perceived and how this older generation is responding to new terms and ways of self help and how bad it can be to ignore it.

Second story, A Sheltered Woman, also a reread. I liked this one better this time.

First story, the title story, a reread. Still amazing, brutal yet not really depressing. Li’s writing is phenomenal.
