Wednesdays child: I think this passage is about what it is to be a mother as the main character looks back at her mothers parenting and her own when her child dies. Also generational trauma. Rosalie’s mother was harsh and judgmental but as she looks back at Marcie even though she had taken her life she knows she gave her the love that she was capable of giving her
