Great impression…

The essay on The Plague was quite interesting, the essayist claims that, in an ironic twist, Camus’ purposefully or not, removed the native inhabitants of Oran and highlighted the French colonizers struggles of being trapped in occupied land. In the end of the novel the plague was reduced to dormancy and, ironically again, not long after the war ended, came back into fruition, leading to the Algerian revolution.

“It is Albert Camus who is talking to us… Rieux and Tarrou, standing for the effort and sacrifice for the Resistance, are in a sense guarantors of the sermon, but Camus is the preacher.” That’s a pretty interesting perspective of The Plague…
