Mike is confronted and attacked by Max Devore and his assistant, who pelts rocks at him. He continues researching the haunting at his home, visiting the library where Maddie works. Maddie is subsequently fired from her job, and Mike is visited by an assistant of Devore, who he refuses to admit to his home. He continues to communicate with the spirit through fridge magnets.
