This is an odd book. It’s an account of a year spent training in Nordic skiing, but it’s less about skiing then random other experiences during the year, some mundane and some life-changing. I am a fan of Bill McKibben’s writing, but this is probably my least favorite. Nevertheless, I really did enjoy the skiing parts.
