Decent. I liked most of it. The rush to the climax and the ending was really forced, but the rest of it was fine. Definitely interested in reading more of it. It's nice to read one of these trash novels that isn't complete garbage. (Ha, get it?) It's just alright. Which is what I had been hoping more of these would be.

Victor decided to go 'save' Glacia with no actual justification. She had been taken back home by her father, but because he saved the reveal of the father until this late, we had no context. AFAWK, it was just a father with his daughter. No reason to be saved. Of course, she wanted to have Victor come get her, but he had no actual reason to believe that. Weak story.

Ha, could've used an editing pass. They straight-up referred to the wrong character in a sentence.
This is still the good side of middling. I wish more trash novels were able to be like this, rather than the bad side of middling (or worse).

One plothole in this premise is that surely these freelance villains would be exposed for frauds eventually. Especially when there is a guild of actual villains that want to be real villains and really kill people/take shit over. Surely they would go to lengths to expose the posers for being frauds. IDK. Maybe that will be a plot point. Or more likely I am overthinking this.

It's been alright. I'm still into it. They had the obligatory early-on sex scene, but I thought it was unnecessary. It's with a side character that already knows the protagonist, but there's no build-up for the audience. I'd rather just not have that.
The main love interest also is a bit eh. She clearly is into the protag from the jump, but without any real reason to be so. It would be better if it was more gradual.

Cute premise. Decent subject matter (superheroines/female supervillains); lots of potential there. Writing is at least mechanically competent thus far. My expectations will always be low for these types of novels, but I'm tentatively hopeful for this one.

I added this to my Kindle a couple of months ago when I was reading a bunch of these books. I forgot to add it to my list. After finishing Shadowrun, I had no idea what I wanted to read, so I scrolled my library. Landed on this. Always a bit interesting to read a completely new author of one of these and find out how shit it is or how similar it is to the others.
