I could talk about Alcestis for hours but the content itself is undeniably irritating. Admetos is the ultimate victim, so determined to have suffered the most. Even when his wife dies, he suffers more than her, because he has lost such a loyal wife (who apparently has no other redeeming qualities beside self-sacrifice). The translation also felt weak, lacking poetry and rhythm
