The epilogue wraps things up but kinda gives me a break-the-4th-wall vibe.

Love how in the book Peter fallow is clearly British but the movie went "let's cast Bruce Willis as Peter "

"That’s a new one- walking a straight line on your back...we gotta call CS Lewis..." Oh, the brilliant dismissive cynicism- all of these twists and turns make for a exciting course as the end approaches.

A really detailed example of suicidal ideation adds a really dark- though realistic- tint to the overall situation. It's not a surprise how emotional turmoil can lead a person to think about stuff like this.

From a visceral description of the booking and arraignment process, to the wide philosophical overview of law, justice, and the perception thereof, this may be the most significant chunk of the book so far.

Even the major additions to the plot that you can see coming a mile away are still revealed with outstanding drama and exposition. This is one of the few times I've enjoyed several dialogues with a New York (cop or lawyer) accent spread throughout.

Great build-up of tension so far, expecting a big payoff.
