Really? Just say "When he reopened his eyes" and be done. There are so many extraneous details in this book, though this is the worst by far. If these were trimmed out, it would flow much better.

Also, "in" is consistently replaced with "m". How? Who edited this?

Wow, I hope this picks up soon because so far the writing is not my cup of tea.
