Never read when I was younger, feel like I miss a lot of references

*dedicated to the adults who had forgot they too were once children and may have forgot to believe.
I felt compelled to finish because the author had written this right before he was shot down by German airmen during World War II. Do I want to read it again? No, but I can see why it is loved

I don’t understand it much. It is a fiction story about a 6-year-old prince who finds adults too busy complicated and this little boy lives on a small planet and reasons with the adult narrator. 6 really does seem to be such an imaginative age.
