It's mostly just a collection of articles he wrote in the '80s. They generally all say the same thing in sometimes different words. Sure, he's got wit and a passion for cutting through the nonsense, which, tinged with a sometimes antisemitic and often conspiracist mentality, can't quite make this book work.

Fantastic stuff. As dark as the analyses and prognostications are for America by way of Vidal, he writes beautifully and brilliantly about it.
