Status Updates From Saltwater Taffy

So far in the novel the five friends had discovered a key that news raveled fast all the shops were closed. It then became pirates day and they all thought they were gonna be written in the history books. Something that I think will happen next will be that they will be able to find another hint because they always get the hints in the newspaper.

In the novel, these five friends Zippy, Jaq, Jimmy, Garry and Harrison go into their hideout and Zippy thinks that he can figure out this mystery but everyone else thinks he cants so they all say no. What has happened so far is very interesting because there is a lot of adventure that is going on and more.

So far in the novel, these five friends are trying to figure out a mystery abot a pirate named Jean Laffite. We still don't know what these friends names are but they are all very adventurous because they want to find out the mystery is. An example is because they go to their secret hideout and always talk about it.

Not very impressed so far for a book that has three pages worth of praises in the front. The characters are so horribly cliche, the plot feels like it has been done before, and the kids' dialogue to one another feels abusive. I know kids are mean but every other sentence they call each other names or throw a fit so far. I don't know it I'll finish it.

Done! The ending, though not what I imagined from the start, was even better. Review of my adventure to come...

We're getting there...we're getting there! Boy is that old man sneaky! Kinda figured on the abandoned bridge though. Loving the growth the boys (and girl) are experiencing through their "hi-seas" adventure. Now..back to getting that map! *reading*

Hmm...wonder why Old Man Sheesley's watching them all SO closely? *creepy*

Now we're getting somewhere. Love the sentiments built into the story and the "Treasure Tip" at the end of each chapter is a nice touch....

So, we know where the book got it's titles from...and we're on our way to discover buried treasure...maybe. So far, pretty good...the history part of the adventure is dragging me down a bit though. Well written and informative yes...but not my favorite cup of tea.
