I think I have to DNF this book. It's well-written and a satirical critique of the absurdities of globalism & African despotism, w good touches of magical realism, class solidarity, feminist activism, etc, but it's just so long and not really holding my interest that intensely. In dialogue, everyone seems to say 10x more than what is necessary (which is the point - words are wind) and I find myself glazing. Alas!

Gosh, the LAYERS to this book. The social, political, racial, and economic commentaries, on top of the symbolism!

This is about to become my latest literary obsession. The absolute GENIUS involved in creating this masterful satire of African totalitarianism.

Good but super long. I’m kinda lost since I’ve read it for so long, and the characters are a bit unclear as the chapters change from a to ö in few sentences.
