It’s criminal how these stories keep getting worse, but I’m also still enjoying hate reading this I can’t even lie

This most recent chapter has sent me from enjoying the book, to ready to DNF, to confused and finally intrigued. The beasts no longer interest me, but I need to know more about the world and the narrator

Every time I think I’m getting the story the author throws in like 45 more odd twists and details and plots points and then I’m so lost. I can’t tell if it’s a writing issue or if I’m just horrendously dumb
