Status Updates From The Rogue Crew (Redwall, #22)

Seriously? All that fighting, all that mention of the vermin outnumbering the combined forces of the Long Patrol, Rogue Crew, and Gousim, and they still came out of this better than the vermin?

Seems to me that despite Razzid's fearsome appearance and trident, he's just as cowardly as any other vermin leader. A pity. Cluny still is the best.

I suppose that the hint that other creatures might carry the Bloodwrath besides badgers goes all the way back to Martin. It's just never been brought up as frequently as these last couple of books.

I was going to say, if the vermin crew was going to ram the ship into the gates, would the masts stop it from going too far? Doesn't look like it now with the masts breaking. They won't be using that ship anymore.

Whoa! How does a giant crossbow bolt push the doors open without being stuck into the wood? Poor Kite!

The sight of a corsair ship sailing across the ground in a thunderstorm is definitely an awesome image!

You know what I really liked in previous books? When our good-natured woodland creatures didn't have the experience or the numbers to fight against hordes of enemies. When they came up with creative solutions to fight. The trick that the Abbot pulled was one such idea that gave them some breathing room.

So, how did the Log a Log climb onto the ramparts?

Assassin! That was way too sudden! And unprovoked too! I thought those foxes had long since been left behind!

This three-topped oak? Seems to come up a lot in these books. I think the author mixes it up with Brockhall.

Does this ship have a battering ram on its prow? How else is it going to break open the Abbey doors?

You scrubbed the quills off of the poor, old hedgehog! He's now butt-@$$ naked! Do they even grow back? *Looks up hedgehogs regrowing quills.* Apparently, they do. Let's hope he's old enough for it.

First it was the Gousim who threatened torture with a heated rapier. Now the Long Patrol and Rogue Crew are actively torturing a ferret with crushed red pepper soup.

Really? A fight over food even though the woodlanders had the upper hand with numbers and surprise on their side? Should've just tied them up, ate their food, throw away their weapons into the river, and leave them there.

See? There is roaming bands of vermin that Razzid could've press-ganged.
