Status Updates From Island

So far, MUCH better than I expected.
It's written in a journalistic form, but he does it well. There was one scene where I was actually "holy shit" shocked and was impressed how quickly the plot took off.

So I just read through a Richard Laymon dream scene and well... it was written by Laymon.
Half of this book is so far borderline comedy with how corny and sleazy it is, and the other half is a pretty dang good and interestingly written thriller.

Once again, so much "usual Laymon" in this one. Some scenes that did surprise me however and I have to give it to Laymon. In a lot of his books, they're easy to figure out how they'll go, but this one

So far, it’s the usual Laymon. A ton of dumb fun, characters acting like no real human would and it reading like a sleazy 80’s horror movie. I’m at home haha
