Status Updates From A Simple Plan

I’m not even reading much between sessions but somehow without fail every time I read there’s some new bullshit about how much of a fat fuck Jacob is

chapter 4 done and dusted.
This was mainly a chapter of reflecting on the absolutely frenetic developments of the third chapter and ruminating on its consequences yet it never felt slow or arduous at all.
Some fantadtic character moments here across the board and a good amount of worldbuilding was presented here too.
theres honestly no predicting anything that can happen in this book. this is such a thrilling ride

More vivid descriptions of how much jacob is a fat useless waste of oxygen. 10/10.

Had to re-read these pages after the book club session so i could let the massive plot developments sink in further because, jesus christ this is insanely hectic.
Im really loving the fleshing out of Sarah as a character in these recent pages and her and Hanks dynamic could really just go anywhere at this point in the book. Very excited to see what comes next

The book is doing such a good job layering the characters’ personalities and backstories, lots of what seems like foreshadowing, super engaging right now I’m hooked.

The phenomena Aaron, Ali and Sharvesh mentioned is real😭 I finished at the start of chapter 3 and thought I became dyslexic, I assumed I just finished the first. Brilliant writing so far, the tension builds as the brothers neglect their dad’s grave for the first time - it’s poetic. ‘I continued to poke at the fire,’ figuratively and literally.
