I started this book after spending some time already working on hadoop. I wanted to validate my knowledge which I gained from using a very beautiful codebase built on hadoop but without anyone explicitly telling me what everything means. And it's so easy to follow this book.. it's almost a page turner. It's written in a very easy-to-follow language, very modular and structured very systematically.

Read it at work in the 2nd half of the workday. Good book, I like it so far. Ch1 is about history of why Hadoop was developed. Currently at Ch2 on MapReduce.
