So Kate is grossly unserious. Like ma’am. That’s a suspect. You unserious little shit. Entertaining whodunit though.

Literally any of these people could have killed the guy. And couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Third of the way in, it's enjoyable at least.

A nice first quarter. Great to be returning to well written books. Even if the stories aren’t as captivating, the act of reading should in itself be pleasant. If writing continues apace, a solid 3 stars.

Enjoying this. Feels like an actual crime book. Maybe will redeem twisted deception.

Cliche stacked on cliche sitting on a solid base of cliche.
The hard-boiled female detective is a lesbian. The office manager is surprisingly competent even though he’s black. The detective’s partner is a racist. The receptionist has a great body, but is a bimbo who shouldn’t be allowed to open her mouth.
I couldn’t even finish the second chapter.
