After watching the DVD of this - I wanted to read the book to see if it was any different to the show.
I have to say, at this point, I am very happy with the book. It does a give a bit more background than the show does. The way that it is written does portray the fear that Charley was feeling, especially on the ferry as he left Europe to go to Africa, to start the Dakar ‘properly’ as he says.
