With the fall of the Ottomon Empire and the establishment of Anglo-French imposed mandates, followed by the equally paternalistic establishment of Israel, it’s clear why the last hundred years in the Middle East have been such a mess. One great Arab nation, vs one great Islamic nation, neither has been achieved, and both attempt an impossible, overly idealistic solution
