I’m unsure if the author knows much about horses but a leg injury to a horse - especially one where a bone is sticking out - is almost always a death sentence barring a magical healer in your party. The FMC wanted to get her horse back up to keep on going and the MMC took it upon himself to provide some mercy. The FMC keeps commenting on his cruelty. 🙄
