I'm just not liking the cringe factor with the older romance book. Brandon will never be redeemed in my eyes, so why the heck would I finish this...that's no hea kind of story.

I read some article that mentioned this as the book as the one that started the romance genre as we know it today. Not likely the rapey vibes. Brandon will never be able to do anything that atones for this behavior.
