Still a fantastic book. Finally to the last section, one hundred pages packed full with synthesis. Pure theology here, both theoretical and practical, very little painstaking exegetical work from here on out. A nice change in pace.

Oh man… some things hit deep in the Galatians study…

Onward to the Spirit in Galatians. Fantastic section on 2 Corinthians. From a TextCrit perspective, he believes that 2 Cor 10-13 is a separate letter from 2 Cor 1-9. I’d never heard that view before.

“Special experiences of the Spirit are deeply personal and have to do with people’s own relationship with God; they do not serve as verification or as grounds for posting about that relationship, nor is grounds for authentication of ministry…”

Fantastic 200 page commentary on 1 Corinthians. His commentary on 1 Corinthians 12-14 deserves the attention of any serious studier of this book. Cleared up some blind spots I’ve had on glossolalia, πνευματικός, and χαρίσματα.
