We figure out that Jack Hamilton lied and didn’t actually find out about the Big Ear from Dave. Popeye asked Dave and he said he knew about the Big Ear but didn’t tell anyone about it. Jack is from an organization on earth to bring the big Ear down. He was posing a hydroponics tech to gain the trust of the others to help carry out this mission. They invade freedom station and lock a guy in the otv in the process.

Jack and Sloan planned a meeting with Popeye, Joni, Chang, and Bruce to put a stop to the Bug Ear which was a threat to the freedom of speech

They get Popeye high on a shuttle cruise and he revealed that his ex wife was buying pot from the shark catcher. After they got back Jack Hamilton stopped growing pot and thought about throwing it out because Dr Feelgood had a suspicion of drugs. He kept the rest of what he had but didn’t give it out due do accidents happening at work. Jack went to tell Sloan later about Dave from meteorology about knowing Big ear.
