Status Updates From If Beale Street Could Talk

I didn’t know James Baldwin before but he has now become one of my favourite authors after reading this book, so sad and so profoundly moving, it is just wonderful.

This is required reading and I wish I had read it a few decades ago. The predecesor to great writers like McBride, Coates. A story where New York City itself is a character as alive as Fonny and Tisch.
