With the hindsight that we have today, this book is horrifying. Everything from The Sanitation Department to the Jews promised deportation to Poland. All embraced with a disbelieving naivety.

This is a chilling book.

The beginning was a lot of high stakes conflicts over orchestras, personalities, different local conflicts…Already starting to be revealed as trivial nonsense as the Nazis start to expand their influence.

This is going to be a very enjoyable little book. One of the “survivor authors” of the holocaust.
