Sat 071225 - On I80 heading east in Darth Van on our way to VH1 for the rest of the weekend - It’s our first road trip together in Darth Van in quite some time. Since it’s a working weekend we had a lot to bring along. I just finished reading this & absolutely love this book. It’s been so insightful for me w/many useful tips & perspectives that will help me w/my CHC Board Member responsibilities & other roles.

Fri 071125 - 36 ORD Dining Table - I finished reading this except for the afterword. Such a good book!! I may add this to my personal collection as a gift to me for securing my very first official nonprofit Board of Director position. I’m super psyched about this!! This book has been really helpful as I’ve considered my past experiences as well as where I want to go in the future.

Thurs 071025 - 36 ORD Dining Table - It’s been a refreshing, exciting, productive week so far. I’m looking forward to going to Crossing Healthcare in a bit for my board orientation meeting. I’m almost finished with this interesting enlightening book. It’s been a fun read that will help me gain insights in a lot of facets for both small boards like club executive teams, as well as my bigger board opportunity.

Weds 070925 - 36 ORD Dining Table - I enjoyed reading through to Chapter 10 this morning listening to light Bossa Nova jazz music in the background while sipping my morning coffee. This is a gem of a book w/practical insights that will really help me as I embark on my first experience serving on a board. Glad I found this resource. Looking forward to heading to Springfield for Capital City Toastmasters today.

Tues 070825 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Buzz & Stitch have disappeared, perhaps downstairs where it’s cooler. I’m enjoying taking breaks to read this 2 chapters at a time. The fictional story to teach about serving on a board is really enlightening & I like the comparison between the main character’s corporate board as CEO & his work as a volunteer director of a nonprofit board. I’m learning a lot in a fun way.

Tuesday 070825 - 36 ORD Dining Table - This book is going to be such an easy read that I will likely finish it today between other activities I have planned. I love the fictional story to help with the teaching moments as well as all the fun graphics the author is doing on a blackberry to highlight the key points of each chapter. The simple yet important points are really helpful as I consider my board position.

Tues 070825 - 36 ORD Dining Table - I anticipate this is going to be a quick read based on the style. I was excited to dive into this today as one of the resources I found at the library to help me be more prepared to start my first board position w/Crossing Healthcare this month. I’m thoroughly excited about this new opportunity & looking forward to serving on this board & making a difference in Decatur.
