As a coal miners daugter, granddaughter. In this few pages i have read, the one word that comes to mind, disgusting. The greed and cruelness of coal operators is enough to make me made and then it mentioned that the operators would bring in negroes, their words, not mine and have them pit against the white workers who were on strike. So the coal operator fueled racism in an era where civil war had just ended (1880s)
