Status Updates From Jayber Crow

I’m taking this slow, at first not on purpose, but now I’m trying to save it, doling out a little at a time. I’m nearly 60 years old, at a time in life when our family is beginning to lose the older generation. Jayber’s story reminds me of listening to my grandmother, my aunts, uncles, and my father and mother, as they told stories of what it was like to grow up. For years, I rolled my eyes. Now I am rapt.
