Status Updates From The Perfect Distance

Ahh, a horse book that uses correct terms. So refreshing. I do love a horse book written by a horse person so very much.

Tara had won and Francie got second. She was still really happy. It was a hugs accomplishment. Then when she walked out of the ring Rob was mad at her because she didn't cheat like he wanted her to. Then she finally stood up to him. Francie ended up going to college and Tara took a job with a grand prix rider. In the end things turned out pretty well for Francie.

Francie put in 2 really great rounds at the Maclay finals. She was in fourth after the fist round. Then the judges called back 2 people. Her and Tara.

*continued* Rob wanted to collect the insurence money on him. Francie confronted her dad about it but he doesn't want to tell the police about it because Rob was so good to him when he first came to the U.S. Francie didn't even want to look at Rob after knowing what he did.

Tara decided to leave West Hills. She blamed her 4th place at Medal Finals on her horse so she's going to a different farm where there's another horse for her. Francie found a piece of paper that helped her figure out what really happened to Stretch. Rob had him killed because he knew he would never be a show horse again after his injury.

When they got back from the show Francie went to feed the horses. She went Stretch's stall and he was lying down. She walked in and to her surprise he was acctually dead. It was so awful.He was hurt already but it was a minor leg injury. They think he died from colic, which is kind of like a horse stomach ache.

Immigration will sometimes go to horseshows and Cathy illegal immigrants. Rob only hires workers with green cards. Camillo, one of the grooms has a fake one. When immigration officers arrived at the show Francie asked Colby to help her and sneak him off the show grounds so he won't get caught. Rob doesn't know he's illegal.

Katie put in a good round at Medal Finals on a horse she never rode before. But not good enough for her to go to the Garden. Katie and Francie made up. Franice got 5th in the Medal Finals so she is going to the Garden.

Right before the USET finals Katie saw Fancie and Colby together. Francie knew Katie liked him but Colby liked Francie. Katie was so mad at her. Also Tara put in a perfect trip, even after her boyfriend broke up with her, but before she was out of the ring she passes out and fell off her horse. That automatically disqualifies you.

Francie is a very good kid. She never disobeys dukes or anything. In a shirt period of time she did some things she never thought she'd do. She went to a party, kissed Colby, and snuck out. It was kind of nice to see Francie not being so tense all the time.
